Utah
The high amount of drug trafficking and smuggling in the state of Utah is mainly done by poly-drug cartels and organizations from Mexico. Due to Utah’s position, it is the gateway to the northwestern part of the United States for marijuana, cocaine, heroin and other drugs. The drug trafficking is much more prevalent because of Utah’s mountainous terrain, sparse population and large area. Almost all types of illegal drugs have been known to pass through Utah mainly via roadways.

The Studio, Cirque Lodge’s other building, is over 100,000 square feet and is situated on twelve acres of privately-owned land, as well as a gated entrance. This is effective because it gives patients the freedom to recover from drug abuse in privacy. Interestingly enough, the Studio used to be a television production facility, producing both films and television episodes. What once was the sound stage, at nearly 17,000 square feet has now been converted into an indoor ropes and challenge obstacle course, encouraging patients to constantly test their own physical capabilities in order to improve their self-esteem.
The Lodge is a very private place, which allows for the most efficient treatment, drug detox and rehab with a soothing view of the outside mountains. It is commonly thought by patients that this close connection with nature gives them a sort of religious or spiritual inspiration.
The building has two levels: the lower level holds guest rooms for family and friends of patients, a laundry room and a full exercise room/sauna. This acts as a form of physical therapy, because physical activity is a very effective way to relieve the stress that will come from drug withdrawal and weaning free of the emotional dependency on drugs or alcohol. Counseling and group therapy sessions are held on the upper floors, as well as meditation sessions in the Cirque Meditation Room. This room has a view of the Cascade Cirque.
