This is the mildest form of treatment. During this treatment, the patient stays at home but has to attend at least ten hours of therapy a week, divided into regular sessions of a few hours duration each time. This treatment program deals more with counseling therapy and detox, even if present, is on an outpatient basis. This program is good for people who have their mental and physical balance in order and are not quite old in their addictions.
Inpatient Treatment Program
During this kind of treatment, the patient will have to stay in an inpatient format, isolated from family and friends for a few weeks. The program may or may not include a detox program. Some programs will refer the patient to an outside treatment center in Iowa for the detox treatment. After the detox, the patient is provided maintenance medication and is given aftercare counseling. This program is specifically targeted for people who are unable to keep up with their determination to abstain from the substance of addiction.
Residential Treatment Program
This program is the harshest form of treatment in Iowa. This is typically for people who have hit bottom with their addictions in some form or the other. The program is a community based program where people with the same kinds of addictions will stay together and receive treatment.
