An intervention is never easy. It isn’t a comfortable position. Discussing a potentially embarrassing topic with someone you know. This becomes even more difficult when the person using is a coworker. The signs are probably clear to everyone who spends their day around the addict. The addict though likely believes they “have it all under control”. Remember though if this individual is a valuable member of your team they are worth a little discomfort in order to help.
